Reflect on the 3 most challenging patients you encountered during the practicum experience. What was most challenging about each?
1) A 25 weeks pregnant woman with history of bipolar disorder. She was very manic. Admitted for suicide ideation to stab her self to death and homicidal ideation to also stab her unborn baby.
2) 23 y/o and 3 months pregnant African American woman with history of substance use disorder. Urine drug screen is positive for cocaine. She present as been delusional that people are after her to kill her and having command hallucination to slit her wrist with razor blade.
3) 75 y/o Asian male with history of major depressive disorder and anxiety. Admitted due to worsening depression due to death of his wife of 40 yrs (Died- 6/19/2021). His depression has deteriorated to the extent that he has not eaten for over 2 weeks and lost over 15 pounds in the past month.
